  • Every year we celebrate European Day of Languages on 26th September. This is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about language learning and linguistic diversity.

  • Students at The Wilncote School participated in a special initiative to raise awareness of mental health and well-being. The school encouraged students to wear yellow ribbons as a symbol of their support for positive mental health.

  • The Wilnecote School has received a generous donation of two 3D printers from Scruffy Dog Creative Group, a leading global creative agency.

  • On Wednesday, 4th September, Wilnecote School warmly welcomed its newest cohort of Year 7 students, marking the start of their five-year journey through secondary education.

  • This term saw our Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Bronze and Silver Award students return victorious from their expeditions, marking a fantastic end to a year of challenges, personal growth, and unforgettable adventures

  • Students from across Tamworth’s high schools converged on Tamworth Stadium to compete for both school honours and a coveted place in the District Athletics team. The latter would represent Tamworth at the Staffordshire Schools County Finals.

  • Year 9 students were privileged to hear the testimony of Michael Bibring, a Second Generation Holocaust speaker as part of the Outreach Programme at the Holocaust Educational Trust.

  • On Thursday 4th July, a group of students from The Wilnecote School took to the stage at Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre as part of The Physical Fellowship Project.

  • The 2024 Wilnecote School Prom was a night of glitz, glamour, and unforgettable memories for our Year 11 students.

  • On Thursday 20th June The Wilnecote School had a visit from Jamie McDonald aka Adventureman. Jamie talked to students about his incredible journey from a child who was told that he would end up in a wheelchair to a runner and world record breaker.

  • Excitement buzzed in the air at The Wilnecote School as over 140 Year 9 students geared up for their cultural capital experience – a trip to the world-renowned Natural History Museum in London.

  • On the 3rd of June 60 of the highest achieving year 7, 8’s and 9’s took part in an Epic Engineers workshop in partnership with HS2. This was dedicated to STEM learning and based around transport infrastructure.

  • An excited set of Wilnecote swimmers entered the Key Stage 3 Tamworth District swim gala with great expectations and ambition.

  • Over 370 students grooved to the beat on the last Wednesday of term at a special silent disco reward event! This high-energy celebration was for students with good attendance (over 94% since January) and good behaviour.

  • Students had the chance to explore their career options at the school’s 2nd annual Careers Fair, held on the 13th of March 2024.

  • On the 4th and 5th March, Year 11 had the fantastic opportunity to do their GCSE fieldwork studies in preparation for their upcoming Geography exams.

  • The Wilnecote School theatre erupted in applause for two fantastic nights in February as they presented their show-stopping production of Matilda JR.!

  • Wilnecote School students are celebrating an impressive performance in the Intermediate Mathematical Challenge (IMC), a prestigious national mathematics competition.

  • As the students arrived back to school for 8pm, there was a real sense of anticipation in the air. Although they knew the next 12 hours would be a challenge, they didn’t have a clue how their resilience would be tested to the limit.

  • This year we had 29 students from years 7 and 8 take part in the 2022-2023 UK Junior Math Challenge. The challenge involved a series of increasingly difficult questions, involving shape, number, geometry, and problem solving.

  • On Friday, 30th June, The Wilnecote School bid farewell to their Year 11 students in a spectacular fashion at this year's highly anticipated prom.

  • Wilnecote School students showcased their resilience, determination, and teamwork during a successful Duke of Edinburgh Silver practice expedition in the stunning Peak District. Eleven students embarked on a thrilling three-day adventure, camping for two nights, that tested their outdoor skills and pushed them to new heights.

  • This half term, students took part in the Bronze Award expeditions. Arriving on Monday morning, the students’ first task was to pack their items into expedition rucksacks. All I can say is we must have some magicians in the group with how much they managed to squeeze into their rucksacks!
