On Tuesday 19th December the Performing Arts department held its Annual Christmas Concert.

The concert not only showcased the amazing performance talents of students from across the years but also enhanced technique and confidence for those studying music at GCSE. It also gave parents, visitors and staff a chance to get into the festive spirit by joining in with popular songs and carols whist indulging in Mince Pies and Hot Chocolate.

Over 25 students took part in the concert with Christmas tunes ranging from Silent Night, to Winter Wonderland, Snowman from Sia, to less well known songs like The Christmas Waltz and Mary Did You Know? Instrumental groups also performed including a sibling duet, a Saxophone solo and a three piece woodwind ensemble.

In all two concert performance took please – one for local primary schools including a mass sing-along to Sparkle and Shine from Nativity.

Mr Hyden, Head of Music said ‘There was certainly sparkle and shine on stage with amazing performances from an exceptionally talented group. The wealth of talent alongside the odd corney Christmas Cracker joke, delighted audiences and left everyone ready for the big day!’
