Year 7

Year 7 have started their time at The Wilnecote School in a remarkable way. Firstly, by winning their Staffordshire County Cup fixture, to now winning the Tamworth District Year 7 tournament. The boys were fantastic in their efforts in ensuring the school was represented in the best way possible against other Tamworth Schools. In addition, our Year 7 Football team have now progressed  through two Staffordshire County Cup fixtures with two impressive victories. The latest victory coming in a 4-2 victory over John Taylor, The year 7’s now egarly awayt the draw for the next round.

 

Year 8

Year 8 had a previous successful year at the school, which seen them have some impressive wins in the build up to their Tamworth District Year 8 tournament. Year 8’s used this success and put on a great showing to end up in 2nd place and having only one point being the difference of them lifting the trophy. Even more so, the team alongside goalkeeper Dylan Ingley pulled out an outstanding defensive display by not conceding a goal in all the 5 games. The year 8 boys will hopefully continue to impress with their next fixture being in the Staffordshire County Cup.

 

Year 9

Year 9 shown maturity and discipline in previous matches in the Staffordshire County Cup by narrowly exiting in a 4-3 loss. The boys picked themselves up again to entertain at the Tamworth District Year 9 tournament and were crowned into 2nd place. The players alongside the staff members worked incredibly hard to provide a platform to achieve success at the tournament.

Year 10

Year 10 suffered their first defeat of the year in the Staffordshire County cup and the students were raring to go to improve on this result at Tamworth District Year 10 tournament. The students were terrific in showing their skills and togetherness in being crowned into 2nd place. The Year 10 students will now look forward to other games against other Tamworth Schools in the near future.
