Welcome

Dear Parents, Carers, and Members of the wider community,

I am incredibly proud to introduce the latest edition of The Wilnecote Warbler, Issue 21! It fills me with immense pride to reflect on what our students and staff have accomplished in just the past three weeks and four days of education.

In this issue, you’ll see firsthand the vibrant energy, dedication, and talent that thrive within our school walls. We’re thrilled to celebrate our Year 8 Football team becoming County Champions – a truly fantastic achievement! You can also read all about the magical trip to see Hamilton in London, an unforgettable experience for our students. Our Year 7s had a wonderful time as they experienced the Stardome and a trip to the Botanical Gardens, broadening their horizons.

We were also honoured to have MP Sarah Edwards visit the school, engaging with our students and staff. Our Year 10s faced the challenge of mock interviews, gaining invaluable experience for their futures. We’re proud that many of our students completed the Autism Awareness course, demonstrating their commitment to understanding and inclusion. Be sure to check out our wonderfully transformed Library refurbishment, a fantastic new space for learning and discovery. And finally, we celebrate Evie’s fantastic achievement appearing on the West End – a testament to her dedication and talent!

The commitment and hard work of our entire school family are truly remarkable, and this newsletter is a testament to the thriving environment we have cultivated together. I hope you enjoy reading about all the wonderful things happening at The Wilnecote School.

Warm regards,

Mr. Foskett Headteacher

New Uniform Trial:

Tailored Shorts!

Our Student Council has put forward a brilliant idea: tailored shorts as an optional part of our school uniform for both boys and girls!

We’re considering a trial period for part of the last half term. If we go ahead, only shorts bought from our official school supplier would be allowed. Please bear in mind this is a trial, and we’ll decide whether to make them a permanent option for September 2025 based on feedback.

Parents, we need your views! Please complete the parental survey on the school App to share your thoughts.
