High-Energy Sports Day Brings Everyone Together for a Day to Remember
Under a beautifully clear sky and perfect summer weather, the whole school family came together this week for an unforgettable Sports Day. Students from all year groups threw themselves into a thrilling day of track and field events, proving that team spirit is at the very heart of who we are.

After record-breaking temperatures forced a brief postponement earlier in the term, the weather gods finally smiled on us. The conditions were absolutely ideal for a full day of friendly competition, filled with endless sunshine, laughter, and a wonderful sense of togetherness.

The atmosphere was electric from the very first whistle. With an incredible two-thirds of our students actively competing on the field, the remaining third took on the equally important role of the ultimate cheer squad. The sidelines were a sea of happy, smiling faces, with students going above and beyond to lift their peers, wave flags, and shout encouragement that could be heard across Tamworth.

Our younger students set the track alight, with Year 7 split into vibrant colour teams: Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. Meanwhile, Years 8, 9, and 10 battled it out on behalf of their historic school houses. It was a jam-packed schedule of classic events, ranging from tactical rounders and softball matches to the sheer, explosive speed of the 100m sprints and the nail-biting 4x100m relay races.

“I could not be prouder of how our students conducted themselves today,” said Miss Dickins, Head of PE. “Sports Day isn’t just about who crosses the finish line first; it’s about the laughter, the encouragement, and the way our older students guide the younger ones. Seeing everyone support each other with such genuine warmth shows exactly what makes our school family so special.”

Every single competitor gave their absolute best, but as always, the final points tally had everyone on the edge of their seats. In the Year 7 competition, Green team took the crown, closely followed by Red, Yellow, and Blue. In the Year 8 to 10 house battles, the mighty Purple House (Offlow) clinched first place, with Yellow (Seisdon) taking second, Orange (Totmonslow) in third, Green (Cuttlestone) in fourth, and Red (Pirehill) wrapping up a fantastic top five.
