Our school community once again demonstrated its commitment to local welfare through its annual food bank drive. The 6th iteration of this event, coupled with the second annual Christmas Jumper Day, took place on Friday, 13th December 2024.

Organised by the dedicated Mr Beck, the event was a resounding success. The school community generously donated a staggering 73 bags and 5 boxes of non-perishable food items, which was delivered to the Tamworth Food Bank on 19th December 2024.

The Christmas Jumper Day added a festive touch to the occasion, encouraging students and staff to embrace the holiday spirit while contributing to a worthy cause. By donning their most cheerful knitwear, participants not only raised awareness but also fostered a sense of community and goodwill.

The school’s continued support for the Tamworth Food Bank highlights its dedication to social responsibility. By providing essential food items, the school helps to alleviate the hardships faced by local families and individuals during challenging times.

Mr Beck extend this sincere gratitude to everyone who participated and donated. Their generosity will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of those in need within the local community.

Mr Beck also commented “It’s fantastic to see the school community come together year after year to support such a worthy cause. The generosity of our students and staff is truly inspiring. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a big difference to the lives of those in need.”

Mr Brockway who is the Head of Operations for the Manna House, who over see the amazing work of the Tamworth Foodbank gratefully explained “Today we have taken delivery of just over half a ton of food from The Wilnecote School, which is roughly £1,500 worth of food. This will be a huge help for our remaining pre-Christmas Foodbank sessions and into the new year”
