Jubilation is sweeping through The Wilnecote School as it’s officially confirmed that their enthusiastic participation on July 1st helped smash the Guinness World Record for the largest cookery lesson (in multiple venues)! Twenty-three pupils, four teachers, and a dedicated steward from Wilnecote were part of this monumental culinary achievement alongside renowned chef Jamie Oliver.

As part of Jamie Oliver’s “Jamie’s 2025 Pasta Champions” initiative, participants worldwide were tasked with the challenging feat of preparing fresh pasta and a delicious tomato sauce entirely from scratch within a tight 60-minute timeframe. The Wilnecote team, armed with rolling pins and fresh ingredients, contributed significantly to this global effort.

Miss Collier, ADT Coordinator, expressed her pride, stating, “It was an incredible experience for our pupils and staff. The energy in the room was palpable, and everyone truly embraced the challenge. We are so proud to have been a part of this historic event and to see our students contribute to such a fantastic achievement.”

The final numbers are in, and the achievement is truly astounding: 10,515 cooks across 6 continents and 42 countries united to make history! The Wilnecote School community is incredibly proud to have played a part in this record-breaking event, showcasing their passion, energy, and love for food. Whether chopping, stirring, or tasting, everyone involved helped make history!
