The Wilnecote School recently celebrated the triumphant return of its Summer Music Concert after a multi-year absence from the school calendar. Featuring vocal solos, piano covers, and lively band performances, the memorable evening highlighted extraordinary student talent and concluded with a standing ovation for Queen’s classic, Somebody To Love.
You may have noticed the sound of live music drifting across Wilnecote recently, and for good reason. After a break of a few years from the official school calendar, live performances made a grand return to our main stage for a summer showcase.
While our school has proudly held various musical events over the year, this evening marked the official return of our dedicated summer concert. It was a complete showcase of Wilnecote School’s Performing Arts talent, bringing together singers, musicians, and bands from across every year group.
Standout moments included Erin’s soaring performance of Never Enough and Charlie’s lively piano cover of Don’t Stop Me Now, which had toes tapping right across the room. The absolute highlight came during the grand finale, when Felicity delivered a jaw-dropping rendition of Somebody To Love, bringing the evening to a fantastic close.
Concert organiser Mr O’hare praised the dedication of the performers, while Headteacher Mr Foskett expressed his pride in seeing students step out into the spotlight with such confidence.
Events like these remind us why our school is such a special, welcoming place where every student is supported to shine and feel like they truly belong
