Wilnecote School Swimmer Eliza Pulley Dazzles at West Midlands Regionals

The Wilnecote School is bursting with pride following the outstanding performance of Year 7 student, Eliza Pulley, at the recent West Midlands Regional Swimming Gala. Representing her swimming group at the prestigious Sandwell Aquatics Centre in Birmingham, Eliza showcased remarkable talent and dedication, bringing home an impressive haul of medals.

Despite only having trained for competitive races for nine months, Eliza, who has been swimming her entire life, secured an incredible four gold, two silver, and two bronze medals across ten gruelling races. Her exceptional results included:

  • Gold in the 400m Individual Medley
  • Gold in the 100m Breaststroke
  • Gold in the 50m Breaststroke
  • Gold in her favourite event, the 100m Butterfly
  • Silver in the 200m Individual Medley
  • Silver in the 50m Butterfly
  • Bronze in the 200m Breaststroke
  • Bronze in the 100m Freestyle
  • No medal in the 400m Free
  • No medal in the 200m Free

Eliza’s success is a testament to her incredible commitment, training six times a week for two hours a session. She competed in all these events over two demanding weekends, demonstrating remarkable stamina and focus alongside other 12-year-olds from the City of Birmingham Swimming Club.

Eliza expressed her gratitude to The Wilnecote School for their support, which has been instrumental in managing her busy training schedule. Her achievements are an inspiration to all at the school, highlighting what can be accomplished with passion and hard work.
