Over 400 enthusiastic students from Years 7 to 10 converged on the Wilnecote School playing fields today for the highly anticipated Sports Day 2025. Representing their houses – Cuttlestone (green), Offlow (purple), Pirehill (red), Seisdon (yellow), and Totmonslow (orange) – students competed with determination and flair for the coveted title of House Champions.
The day saw each year group battling it out across three key events: rounders, softball, and the ever-popular relay races.

The rounders tournament proved to be a major highlight, drawing in a vast number of competitors and delivering a series of intensely close and highly competitive games. Cuttlestone house showcased remarkable dominance, clinching victory in all four year group tournaments:
Year 7 Rounders: Cuttlestone emerged victorious, with Pirehill as runners-up.
Year 8 Rounders: Cuttlestone triumphed again, with Pirehill securing the runner-up spot.
Year 9 Rounders: Cuttlestone continued their winning streak, with Totmonslow finishing as runners-up.
Year 10 Rounders: Cuttlestone completed a clean sweep, with Seisdon taking second place.
While the softball tournament involved fewer participants, the level of competition was just as fierce, with several games going down to the wire. Seisdon and Pirehill demonstrated their prowess in this event:
Year 7 and 8 Softball: Seisdon claimed the top spot, with Offlow as runners-up.
Year 9 and 10 Softball: Pirehill secured the win, with Offlow finishing in second place.

The day reached its crescendo with the whole school gathering to witness the relay event. An electric atmosphere permeated the air, filled with palpable excitement and tension as students from each house raced for the fastest time in their year group. A massive number of students risked everything for house glory, with many houses fielding multiple relay teams. The Year 7 competition alone saw over 20 relay teams entered, a testament to the students’ dedication.
The relay results were:
Year 7 Relay: Cuttlestone powered to victory, with Pirehill close behind as runners-up.
