The 2024 Wilnecote School Prom was a night of glitz, glamour, and unforgettable memories for our Year 11 students. Held at the thrilling Drayton Manor theme park, the event marked the culmination of their exams and a well-deserved celebration of their hard work and achievements.

The arrivals themselves were a showstopper! Students rolled up in a dazzling array of vehicles, from sleek sports cars and roaring motorbikes to a replica of Disney’s very own Lightning McQueen. Awaiting them was a guard of honour formed by our dedicated teachers, showering them with applause as they entered the prom in style.

Inside, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Students flocked to the innovative 360-degree video booth, capturing hilarious and heartwarming moments. The sweet tooth brigade, meanwhile, indulged in a delightful chocolate fountain and overflowing sweet cart, ensuring their sugar levels were high for a night of energetic dancing.

 

As the DJ spun a mix of classic anthems and chart-topping hits, from the infectious grooves of Steps’ “5, 6, 7, 8” to the electrifying energy of The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside,” the dance floor never looked fuller. Laughter echoed throughout the night as students partied with their friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Mr. Foskett, Headteacher of Wilnecote School, remarked:

“The prom was a fantastic way to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students. They have worked incredibly hard throughout their time at Wilnecote, and it was wonderful to see them letting their hair down and enjoying themselves. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them.”

Mrs. Ager and Miss March, joint Heads of Year 11, commented:

“We were so impressed by the maturity and elegance displayed by our students at the prom. It was a truly special occasion, and a wonderful way to say goodbye to this fantastic year group. We wish them all the very best for their future endeavours.”

The 2024 Wilnecote School Prom was a resounding success, a night that our Year 11 students will undoubtedly cherish for years to come. We look forward to seeing them achieve great things in the next chapter of their journeys.
