Dear Parent/carer,
It is a great privilege to be taking up the post of headteacher of the Wilnecote School in September. The school has seen significant improvement over recent years, achieving an OFSTED rating of Good earlier in this academic year and continual progress against national performance metrics. Having visited the school a number of times over the summer term, I am left in no doubt that this progress is very much due to the dedication and talent that lies within both teaching and support staff here at Wilnecote. I will seek to build on the school’s strength and harness the clear potential for further improvements.
I am a very experienced school leader and have worked predominantly in challenging inner-city schools in the West Midlands. Throughout my career I have insisted on the highest expectations of student behaviour, uniform, punctuality and attendance as I firmly believe that these combine with hard work to give the greatest opportunity for academic success. I trust you share these beliefs and will support the school in maintaining these standards. I, for my part will do everything in my power to ensure students at Wilnecote make the most of their abilities and leave the school with the qualifications to access their ambitions and the strength of character to fulfil them.
I know every parent wants the very best for their child. The relationship between Wilnecote school, students and parents is essential in achieving this, so I look forward to your support in realising every child’s potential. I want students at Wilnecote to be proud of their school and the community proud of them. To that end I would be very grateful if you could ensure you have consulted the school’s uniform policy so that when purchasing uniform for the coming new academic year, your child/children are in line with our expectations.
I wish you all a great summer and look forward to working with you all in September.
Yours faithfully
Mr D Foskett
New Headteacher (Sept 2023)
