The Wilnecote School’s Key Stage 3 girls’ badminton team has triumphed in the Tamworth District Badminton tournament, securing the coveted district title with a display of exceptional skill and teamwork.
The victorious team, comprised of Adelina C, Harper L, Lexi O, and Savannah H, showcased remarkable consistency across two rounds of intense competition. Their impressive performance saw them concede only a single game throughout the entire tournament, highlighting their dominance in the district.
The final round, saw the girls facing off against strong opposition from various local schools in the doubles competiton. The atmosphere in the sports hall was electric as the Wilnecote team demonstrated their prowess. Adelina C’s combination of shots and precise placement, Harper L’s powerful clears, Lexi O’s agile net play, and Savannah H’s solid defensive returns proved to be a formidable combination.
