Book Fair Bonanza: Students Raise Funds for New Library Titles!
Listen to this news story read by Adelina from Year 9
The Wilnecote School library got a wonderful boost thanks to the huge success of our Scholastic Book Fair, which ran from Monday, October 3rd to Saturday, October 8th.
It was fantastic to see so many of our students excitedly browsing the stalls, discovering new authors, and sharing their book recommendations with their friends. The sheer energy and love for reading throughout the week was truly amazing
Fundraising Success
Thanks to your fantastic support, the Book Fair successfully raised an excellent £91.93!
These funds will be immediately used to purchase brand-new books for the library, ensuring our shelves stay stocked with the latest and most popular titles that our students want to read.

Miss Wain, the School Librarian and organiser of the event, was thrilled with the turnout. She commented:
“Seeing the sheer volume of students excitedly browsing and discussing books was the real highlight for me. The atmosphere throughout the week was fantastic. Every penny we raised will go straight back into filling our shelves, but the best result is knowing we’ve helped spark that lifelong love of reading for so many Wilnecote students.”
A Special Library Addition
We want to send a huge thank you to Mr O’Malley for his generous contribution! He personally purchased the incredibly popular graphic novel series, Heartstopper, specifically for the library’s collection. We know this much-requested series will be an instant hit!
Look Ahead
If you missed out this time, don’t worry! Start saving those pennies and thinking about your next reads.
Look out for our next Book Fair coming in 2026!
Thank you again to everyone—students, staff, and parents—who supported this brilliant event! Happy reading!
